Nagpur : ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashaal’ – the victory flame marking India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war reached Head Quarter Maintenance Command Vayu Sena Nagar, Nagpur on 22 Jan 21. In a grand ceremonial reception Air Marshal Shashiker Choudhary AVSM VSM Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force received the ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashaal’ in the presence of all personnel at the Station Parade Ground. India celebrates December 16 as ‘Vijay Diwas’ to commemorate its victory over Pakistan in the 1971.
On 16 December 1971, the Indian Armed Forces achieved a stellar and historic victory over Pakistan which led to surrender of over 93,000 Pak troops and creation of Bangladesh. As a mark of solemn tribute and celebration of the splendid victory, the ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ celebrations will culminate on next Vijay Diwas, 2021. A number of events, which include Quiz competition on 1971 war, conduct of seminars, equipment display, drawing/ painting/ debate/ essay competitions, mini marathon, documentary/ photo exhibitions among other events would form part of the year long celebrations.
