NAGPUR : Shravan Hardikar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 2005 batch, has been appointed as the Managing Director, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), which is headquartered in the city. He fills in the vacancy caused by the superannuation of Dr Brijesh Dixit. The order for Hardikar’s appointment was issued on Friday by Nitin Gadre, Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD), Maharashtra Government.
At present, Hardikar is the Additional Municipal Commissioner, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The post of MD, MMRCL, was vacant for the past two and half months and Dr Nitin Karir, seniormost Director on the Board, was holding the additional charge. Hardikar had earlier worked in Nagpur as Municipal Commissioner for nearly two and half years, from 2015, after which he went to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
